Launching on National Writing Day, Wild About Writing is a writing competition for short stories inspired by the natural environment. Open to children aged 7-13 it is an invitation to children and their families to get outside and explore the natural world around them and to use their experiences as a jumping off point for writing a story. There are two categories; 7-10 & 11-13 years and the two winning stories will be published in EADT Suffolk Magazine later this year. The winners will also receive book tokens and a day pass to RSPB Minsmere, Suffolk.
Wild About Writing judges include celebrated writer and illustrator James Mayhew, whose books include the ‘Katie’ and ‘Ella Bella Ballerina’ series and Francesca Armour-Chelu, author of ‘Fenn Halflin and the Fear Zero’ and ‘Fenn Halflin and the Seaborn’.
Wild About Writing is supported by Arts Council England and the National Lottery.
