A Q&A event for an invited audience of writers who have submitted scripts to the BBC Writersroom’s open submission script windows – and reached the longlist – or who are studying for a qualification in script and screenwriting.

Marnie Dickens’ first greenlit original dram was the five-part serial, Thirteen, which aired on BBC Three and BBC Two in 2016. The series also aired on BBC America. The drama centred on Ivy Moxam (Jodie Comer), a kidnap victim who returns home after thirteen years trapped in a suburban cellar.

Her next original series will also be for the BBC. Gold Digger, a six-part drama about an older woman falling in love with a younger man, is due to transmit on BBC One later in 2019.

The evening will consist of a Q&A hosted by BBC Writersroom including examples of Marnie’s work and a preview of her forthcoming drama Gold Digger, followed by audience questions.
